Emotionally Focused Sex and Sexuality Therapist Position
This is a full time employment (W2) position which includes 20+ client hours/week, with additional time dedicated to the tasks associated with client care (notes, case planning etc). This Emotionally Focused Therapist must also be passionate about specializing in sex and sexuality to join our growing team of EFT therapist who specialize in providing this important support to our community.
The ideal candidate will be either fully trained/certified in EFT AND sex therapy or planning to do so. This person will be joining a growing group of therapists within IRTC who share a common goal of providing sex and sexuality focused therapy specifically through an attachment and EFT lens.
Our practice provides primarily in-person services. We are committed to cultivating and supporting a diverse team and encourage LGBTQIA+ therapists and therapists of color to apply. The specific work schedule can be collaboratively determined however it will likely require a combination of evenings and part of Saturday.
Professional Requirements:
A Master's degree from a systemically focused therapy program, ideally an MFT/CFT program
Colorado Licensure (preferred) or pre-licensure status, currently working with an AASECT Supervisor
Enrollment in, completion of, or plan to enroll in EFT Externship and/or Core Skills (or the sincere intention to do so). We understand that EFT trainings are expensive. Please don’t let this requirement prevent you from applying should the training be cost prohibitive for you. We can talk through this during the interview process.
Working towards AASECT certification
Experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients
Awareness of ethical concerns and considerations and the ability to handle them appropriately (i.e. mandated reporting)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
An affirming and empathic approach to working with clients of all backgrounds and orientations, and non traditional relationships
Clinical Responsibilities for the EFT/Sex & Sexuality Therapist Position:
● Provide individual and relationship therapy services to clients seeking help with sexual and sexuality concerns
● Use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients identify and address underlying emotional issues that may be impacting their sexuality and sexual experiences
● Effectively use sex therapy knowledge and interventions in support of the clients’ goals
● Create a safe and inclusive environment for all clients to explore their sexuality, sexual trauma and any other sex & sexuality related concerns
● Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help clients improve communication, deepen intimacy, and enhance their overall sexual satisfaction
● Participate in regular supervision and monthly team meetings to ensure quality care and continued growth as a therapist
● Attend ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in sex therapy
● Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client sessions

Monthly supervision with a AAMFT approved and EFT Certified (or supervisor-in-training) supervisor who is also nearly AASECT certified.
Please Note: We require all of our pre-licensed therapists to engage in a minimum of one hour of supervision/month outside of our practice to ensure you are exposed to a variety of perspectives beyond those of your colleagues at IRTC
