A LITTLE BIT ABOUT julianne

Born and raised just outside Philadelphia, my family officially moved to Maine where I spent all of my summers growing up. Life was filled with beach walks, sailing, and, of course, tons of lobster. After meeting my husband and raising our dog, Muffin, together, we decided to follow our dreams and move to Colorado at the end of 2025. We love everything Colorado offers: skiing, hiking, golf, tennis, and the culture above all else. In my spare time I like to try new sports and hobbies, pick up a new book, discover new restaurants and enjoy every second of sunshine or snow, depending on the season. I also enjoy practicing mindfulness and journaling. Nothing brings me more joy than spending quality time with family and our dogs, especially in this place we call home.

Why I am pursuing a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist

My own personal therapy journey has provided me with so many opportunities for growth, reflection and self-love. I faced many difficult experiences throughout my adolescence and early adulthood, which inspired my goal to provide care and support for those who need it, just as I received. As a client myself, I have seen firsthand how valuable and meaningful therapy can be when provided in an effective and caring way. I communicate and understand others uniquely, always asking genuinely curious questions to uncover all sides and perspectives of a story with the intention of meeting people where they are. Part of my journey in choosing this career has also involved accepting my authentic self and wanting to support others in a genuinely warm and empathic way. Throughout my graduate program and therapy journey, I reflected on my own family’s history and intergenerational patterns, which allowed me to discover parts of myself that explain who I am today. My relationships throughout my developmental stages have impacted all aspects of my life, allowing me to learn and implement what I found most meaningful to my current and future relationships. Conducting therapy through a systemic and relational lens allows for a broader, more open and impactful perspective when viewing life's problems. My goal in becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist is driven by the desire for my clients to feel heard, understood and accepted. Being a small part of my client's journey is, in my opinion, the most rewarding part of this career.
