At IRTC, we understand that the cornerstone of an effective and beneficial therapeutic relationship is feeling completely comfortable sharing your innermost thoughts and emotions with your therapist. We invite you to share your spiritual and faith-related beliefs with us, especially if it is difficult to discuss faith with family and friends. Our therapists welcome the opportunity to work through your faith-based lens and will take our time learning what matters to you.

Not sure what that looks like? We will break down some key points to help you feel comfortable integrating your faith into counseling, no matter how you identify.

1. We are open and fully accepting of all personal ideologies.

We will wholeheartedly accept you. However you identify, and no matter what you believe, we will help you feel comfortable expressing your full and true self during your therapy session.

2. We understand that everyone’s spirituality & inner-lives are deeply personal and unique.

Whether it is spirituality, faith, religion, creed, or personal ideology, our therapists welcome your beliefs. Our therapists will always honor and respect your beliefs and why they are important to you.

3. The role your spiritual or religious world plays in your life is important. If you wish to integrate your faith into counseling sessions or religion in your therapy, we welcome the opportunity to do this with you.

Faith and spirituality play a central role in many people’s lives. These intimate, personal views are deeply intertwined into daily life. From the way you perceive the world, to your relationships, your life may be largely shaped by your faith-based beliefs. Having a therapist who is comfortable conversing through a faith-based lens can enhance your ability to show up as your authentic self in therapy and in the world.

4. We will never push a faith-based lens on you.

At IRTC, our ultimate goal is to help you on your therapeutic journey. If you desire to work with a therapist who is skilled and comfortable working through a faith-based perspective, we are here to provide that for you. Please let us know if integrating faith into counseling sessions or religion in your therapy is something you are interested in, and our Client Engagement Specialist will be sure to pair you with the best therapist for you.
